Welcome to the Make Your Metaphor Project. Now more than ever we tell our stories via videos on the internet. This medium presents a great opportunity — and challenge — for basic and translational researchers seeking to connect with new audiences.
Working with the Development Office, I’ve created the Make Your Metaphor Project to provide a forum for Perelman School of Medicine faculty to practice and refine how they tell their “story.” I am convinced that each PSOM laboratory has a great story to tell to a non-scientist. The challenge is finding the right language, sequence, level of detail, and metaphor to engage folks’ interest. Visit the “Learn More About” section to explore how to create your video.
The examples below represent fellow PSOM faculty tackling the challenge of describing their work — help us to add to and deepen this list.
The goal of the Make Your Metaphor Project is to build a library of video content that can be used to raise the visibility of the tremendous research happening at Penn.
